May 21, 2022 8:00AM - May 21, 2022 6:00PM
EVENT RESCHEDULED FOR May 21st !! Join us for a double-header Adventure Ride that highlights York River State Park. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org and specify which ride you'll be attending.
(We want to make sure we have plenty of grillables for everyone!)
We have two options for fun, a 200k road ride and a 20-mile mountain bike jamboree on the table.
The 200k will depart from our Cary Street location at 8am, and take a beautiful, rolling route eastward with a stop at the halfway point, York River State Park. We'll snag a snack and a cold beverage there, then continue our way homeward on familiar East-End roads. Total mileage for the day will be about 135, so don't forget to pack some emergency supplies like a tube, CO2, and multi-tool. There will be plenty of store stops, one every 30 miles if you need it, so snack refills are definitely a planned option! Check out the route here!
For those that prefer riding off-road to pavement, you'll love the mountain bike trails at York River. Find us at Picnic Shelter Number 1 with a 20 mile trail ride departing at 10am. Expect rooty Rhododendron forest and switchbacks for days. Marl Ravine Trail is one of our absolute favorites!
After the ride, head back to the shelter for a picnic and we'll fire up the grill around noon. Snacks and beverages to share aplenty! Get ready to give out a bunch of high fives to the 200k folks as they roll in for lunch then get back the road.
While you're at York River State Park, take a moment to check out the fossil beach, go for a little dip in the river. There are also some great hiking trails all through Taskinas Creek Estuary system.
We can't wait to see you there!
